Eligibility Route Changes for the 2006 Exam -

Starting in 2006 the following changes in the routes to eligibility will be effective:

All first time exam candidates will be subject to a 3 attempt rule in which a candidate who has failed the exam on the third attempt will not be eligible for examination for two calendar years after which the candidate may submit an application for examination. A minimum of 12 continuing education hours (MDCB approved) is required under this rule in order to submit application for examination after three failed attempts.

Route 2 - A signed letter of verification of experience and training from an immediate supervisor will be require swith the application rather then a signature on the application itself. A form letter will be supplied in the application handbook. In addition:

Evidence of obtaining 12 CE credits approved by the MDCB in the duration of training will be required. In addition:

All experience must equal 24 months as of the deadline date of the application (March 1) of the year of the application ie. the total of 24 months must occur before the application deadline rather than be "completed by the exam date".

Route 3 - All above changes apply except that the duration of experience will change from a total of 48 months to 36 months and the Associates in Science Degree requirement will be replaced with any Associates Degree.

Eligibility Route Change for the 2008 Exam -

Starting in 2008 -

Route 1 - All candidates for the exam applying via route 1 must have graduated from a JRCERT accredited program or a program having completed the review process and awaiting JRCERT approval. Non-accredited program graduates may be eligible via route 2 or 3.
